The Central Detective Training Institute, Ghaziabad was set up on the recommendations of the Gore Committee on Police Training (1970), after similar institutes at Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chandigarh. It started functioning on 16 January 2012 under the aegis of the Bureau of Police Research and Development.
